Introduction

Starvoxel: Defender ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed by Starvoxel: Defender.

Data We Collect

We process the data needed to provide accounts, progression, purchases, multiplayer, safety, and optional analytics:

Local Data (stored on your device only)

Device Settings: Audio, language, analytics consent, and cached game state
Notification Schedule: Optional daily-reward reminders configured on the device

Core account and game-service data is separate from optional analytics consent.

Account and Game-Service Data

Account and Identity: Firebase account identifier, linked Game Center or Play Games identifier, player name, avatar, title, and name colour
Progression: Levels, cards, upgrades, currency, rewards, battle-pass progress, achievements, ranks, and run results
Online Play: Matchmaking status, friends and invitations, connection data and connection quality (round-trip time, reconnects), match commands, and server-validated results
Purchases: Product, store, transaction, and receipt or purchase-token data needed to verify purchases. Apple sandbox (test) purchases are recorded as test purchases. We do not receive payment-card details.
Gameplay Statistics: To balance the game, our servers also record per-match gameplay statistics (mode, level, deck, card levels, how each card was used, and the result) under a pseudonymous key derived from, but not containing, your account identifier.

Analytics Data (with your consent)

If you consent, Google Firebase Analytics processes the events listed below. Meta App Events (iOS and Android) and, on Android only, TikTok App Events also process app activity to measure advertising installs and performance. On iOS we do not ask for tracking permission and never collect the advertising identifier (IDFA); on Android these services may receive the device's advertising identifier.

On starvoxel.com, Google Analytics is loaded only after you accept analytics. It measures page views, clicks to stores, community and social profiles, and use of site features such as gameplay playback, card filters and details, the board demo, and deck-code or share-link actions. The deck builder does not send your selected lineup or deck code. Advertising storage, advertising user data, advertising personalisation, and Google signals are disabled.

Gameplay and Progression: Tutorial, battles started and finished (mode, level, result, rounds, duration), account and card level-ups, trophies, achievements, and screens and features used
Economy: Coins, diamonds, packs, and card parts earned and spent
Purchases: Shop and offer views, checkouts started, and verified or failed purchases
Network Quality: Latency, jitter, reconnects, and connection type during online matches, and a short latency sample per launch; the app also sends our match server a coarse region hint (language region and time zone)
Errors: App errors and unexpected exits
Device Info: Device model, operating system, app version, approximate region, and identifiers made available by the platform

Analytics events never contain your name, account identifier, advertising identifier, IP address, or anything you type.

We do not sell personal data and do not use precise location data. Analytics and advertising measurement stay off when consent is declined.

Analytics Consent

On first launch, you will be asked whether you consent to optional analytics and advertising measurement. This is entirely optional.

Accept: Firebase Analytics and Meta App Events are enabled; on Android, TikTok App Events is also enabled for install attribution
Decline: No optional analytics or advertising-attribution data is collected or sent

You can withdraw or restore consent at any time from the Analytics toggle on the in-game Profile screen. Withdrawal stops future optional collection.

Third-Party Services

We use these service providers:

Google Firebase: Authentication, analytics, matchmaking metadata, and backend-owned progression storage. Google privacy information
Meta App Events (iOS and Android, with consent): Advertising install attribution and performance measurement. Meta Privacy Policy
TikTok App Events (Android, with consent): Advertising install attribution, app-launch, and day-two retention measurement. TikTok Privacy Policy
Hetzner (EU): Hosting of the online match servers.
Apple and Google: Platform identity, achievements, leaderboards, store distribution, and purchase processing.

Our providers process data under their terms and privacy notices. Data is encrypted in transit.

Data Retention

Local Data: Stored until you uninstall the app, clear its data, or change the relevant setting
Account and Progression Data: Kept while needed to provide the game and protect legitimate progression, then deleted or anonymised when no longer needed or following a valid deletion request
Gameplay Statistics: Stored in Google Cloud in the EU for up to 25 months and used only to tune the game. This is part of operating the game (legitimate interest) and is separate from analytics consent; you may object or request erasure using the contact below.
Analytics and Attribution Data: Retained according to our configured provider settings and the applicable Firebase, Meta, and TikTok retention policies

Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your data
Right to Withdraw Consent: Disable analytics in Settings at any time

Starvoxel: Defender is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
